Training aims

Would you like to develop an innovative application in mixed reality? This course aims to teach you how to master the development of an application with HoloLens from A to Z. It is intended for an audience initiated: developers with good foundations in C # and Unity 3D, as well as UI / UX designers. Thus, from the expression of the need to the publication of your app on the HoloLens store, you will be guided through each step and will practice with practical cases, to integrate assets, design graphics and program advanced features.

Training program

This course is intended for an initiated audience: developers with good foundations in C # and Unity 3D, as well as UI/UX designers. At the end of these 4 days, you will develop your own application, also downloadable from the HoloLens store.

Day 1
Presentation of HoloLens and use cases, the keys to build a project in mixed reality

1. What is mixed reality ?
   • Differences with virtual reality and augmented reality
   • The devices available on the market and their characteristics
2. HoloLens presentation
   • Its technical characteristics
   • Its features: gesture recognition, voice recognition, spatial mapping
3. The prerequisites to launch a HoloLens development project
   • The necessary softwares
   • Presentation of the professions to be solicited to carry out the project
   • Build your development team and identify the essential profiles
   • The stages of production
4. The main use cases
   • Real Estate
   • Training
   • Industry
5. Feedback from our professionals
   • Presentation of the best practices to implement when launching your first HoloLens project to avoid the mistakes that can be made.
6. How to develop for HoloLens ?
   • Presentation of the necessary softwares
   • Introduction to the Mixed Reality Toolkit

7. Application testing
   • Testing applications developed by Actimage, on our HoloLens helmets: Pop Balloons, Car Configurator, Safran Lading System, Mixed Reality Concept
   • Testing applications selected especially for you, according to your sector of activity and your needs (to be defined upstream with the Actimage Academy)

Day 2
Introduction to the development of a HoloLens application

1. Introduction
   • More detailed presentation and experimentation of the Mixed Reality Toolkit and Device Portal
2. Experts advice
   • Develop and compile an application following the advice of our experts to master the basics of HoloLens development
3. Good design practice of an application
   • Understanding the context and the final user needs to respond effectively
   • Design: accompanied by our experts, the participants will define the content of their application and the user's path to then develop a first prototype

Day 3
Practical application supervised by the trainers

1. Production of assets
   • Creation of the UI elements necessary for the good development of the application
2. Development
   • Development of the application features

Day 4
Demonstration

1. Tests
   • Tests and feedback from our experts, debugs and last touches of your application
2. Exchanges
   • Tests and exchanges around the applications developed by each group and election of the preferred application of the training

Evaluation

Certification course awarded by the Actimage Academy after the test passed at the end of training
