GIES

Groupement Informatique de l’Economie Sociale (Digital Social Economic Interest Group)

The GIES is an economic interest group created to manage the digital needs of several important associations in the field of service to individuals. Among its main missions are the conception, the development and maintenance of its softwares (ATENA), as well as the implementation and monitoring of the technical architecture (networks management, servers management, telephone systems…).

 

The challenge

Since 2014, Actimage supports the GIES in its project for digital transformation and in its cloud-based centralisation. This cloud platform is required to answer the needs of and to welcome over 135 GIES branches and their 1.200 healthcare professionals.

The solution offered

The first challenge of this project was the definition of a solution able to answer to economical, technical, organisational and legal criterion altogether. Actimage had to work in close partnership with the GIES and its technical team in order to reach this goal.


An optimal use of Microsoft tools

This long-term endeavour was the opportunity for Actimage’s Cloud Division to optimise the use of the entire line of Microsoft tools and bring them together in a dedicated platform: from the servers and the workspaces' virtualisation to the systems integration, as well as the core applications and the communication tools.

The technical architecture was designed so as to guarantee the safety, scalability, and resiliency of the deployed Data System.


A downtime reduced to a minimum for the users

Thanks to Actimage and the GIES' shared methodology, organisation, discipline and implication, the transition was managed smoothly and led to a minimal impact on the availability of the services and applications, for the comfort of their users.

This ambitious project for the GIES led to a radical shift in its digital infrastructure for a greater efficiency, a greater monitoring, a greater security and a greater compliance. By supporting them with technical and strategic efforts, we were able to deliver a long-lasting and adaptive infrastructure, while also improving their users services.
